Weekly Inspiration from Pastor Steve Daniels, Jr.

To The Beloved Family of Christ,

Hebrews 12:1 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”

“ACCELERATE!”

Accelerate means to move faster, to progress, to grow and increase. The writer of Hebrews reminded us that Christians have a race to run. We are on a race track trying to make it through this world. The race is that life of faith and obedience. A hearer of the Word, and doing nothing and expecting something great, you are deceiving your own self. James 2:17 “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” If we lose, the blame is entirely ours. If we succeed, the glory belongs to God alone. The prize to be run for is heavenly glory.

To accelerate is a person who stands out from others not for some accidental difference, but for something which makes others to follow your lead, acknowledge your power, accept your teaching, to admire your course. There are three characteristics that a person must have to accelerate:

You must have a big mind to take in.
A strong conviction,
And a firm will.
Like a runner on the track, you may get weary and want to give up. The writer points out three divine resources that encourage a Christian to accelerate when the situation is difficult.

(Hebrews Chapter 12; Verses 1-2)

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Look around at the winners – The cloud of witnesses
Look at yourself – Lay aside every weight and sin
Look at Jesus Christ – The Author and finisher of our faith
Let us Accelerate in 2017!

Be Blessed!
