"The Rewards of Faithful Worship"

Acts 10:1-2

“There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.”

Cornelius was a righteous and God fearing man.  One who prayed to God for direction in his life.  He also was a great giver to the kingdom of God.  Prayer and giving goes together.  Faithful worship to God is prayer and giving.  They go hand and hand.  Giving is sacrificing, it is an offering to God to show your sincerity to Him that you want what you are praying to Him for.  Whenever the fear of the Lord rules in the heart, it will appear both in works (sacrifices) of giving and in godly devotion.

Faithfulness in worship of God has its rewards.  God granted him the answer to his request.  You cannot half worship and give unto Him and expect the greatest gift.  The angel said unto him “thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.”  The sincerity of Cornelius’s heart caught God’s eye.  In God’s government the generous and devoted heart will be rewarded and receive generously in return.

Tithing is one of the ways to show God how much we love, trust and respect Him.  That He means more to us than what we own.

Be Blessed
