Greetings, Shiloh Family and Friends:
The gospel truth educates you fully in understanding God’s ways. when you are educated in the word of God it liberates you and your faith in Him will increase. All our speculations, beliefs, traditions will be judged by – the WORD OF GOD – THE TRUTH.
Purpose & Motive in Giving
Leviticus 27:30 “And all tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s: it is holy unto the Lord.”
Tithing was established as a physical earthly demonstration of man’s commitment to God. God understood our greedy, selfish nature and provided an identifiable sign of our sincerity. By surrendering some of our physical resources, we testify to our origin just as a farmer does when he surrenders some of his crops back to the earth from which it came. The purpose of giving and tithing is to teach us always to fear the Lord and to show that He is more important to us then anything we hold in our hands. Deut. 14:22-23.
II Corinthians 9:7: “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver”.
Our giving must be from the heart to please God. God does not want us mad or griping about it to Him. He does not want us pressured to give. God wants us to be cheerful givers, because of our love and appreciation for Him. God takes it as a personal insult when we give from a negative spirit. Salvation is a service to us, and we all pay for the services we have. Ephesians 2:8-9: (v8) “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (v9) Not of works, lest any man should boast”.
Be Blessed,
